the stupid idea that "lefties" hate guns is getting old. the "left" are the ones that used guns to get you the 40 hour work week, safe workplace laws" child labor laws, broke up the monopolies that had formed...... the "right" has only made monopolies and created a culture where the very few rule over the many. they don't buy guns to defeat tyrants they buy guns to create them and then fight and die for the greed of the few.... no "lefty' i know is for banning guns, most are smart enough to know that to stop gun violence we need to have universal healthcare, robust background checks, and a new invigorated focus on mental health and education. We all know that most violent acts are perpetrated by desperate and disturbed people. Take away the stresses of our current "system" and make sure that every american gets what we are promised by our constitution, Freedom. Freedom is the cure for our societal ills, not more laws.This attraction to authoritarianism is going to make things much worse. Authoritarianism is never the answer and our forefathers knew it. That is what and why america is, it is an acknowledgment that mankind is capable of doing what is best for everyone, not just the few. That through checks and balances and with civilian oversight we could have a country that "we the people" could be proud of. Instead wqe get a country ran into to ground by robber barons and wealth worshiping "republicans" that predicate their entire world view on the concept that the few the rich and powerful are better than the poor. That the poor are poor because they are bad people. Blaming poor people for being poor while they too are poor. And dont forget about the phonies they call "Democrats" they also subscribe to the notion that We the people need smarter better people to think for you and protect you, in other words they are both "republicans" "democrats" more and more looking like Authoritarianism idiots... Freedom and being able to think critically are being forgotten by Americans in favor of a tribalist kind of team based vitriol. We must start to address the heart of issues before us. If we do not change things are going to and we will be left behind. We are all in this together and we will have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness or we will have suffering, tyranny, and hate..
