years ago my truck was stolen. i called the cops. they did nothing. a week later a well know local "drug dealer" knocked on my door and told me he had seen what looked like my truck a few blocks away. as i walk up to my truck(shell missing) i see a truck drive by with my shell. so i call cops again. they say go ahead and drive my truck home and that's is that. i tell them about the shell and the guy driving by with it. Yet that's that they don't investigate no finger prints nothing. so i drive up the way looking for the truck with my shell and sure enough it a few block away. so i call cops again. now after explaining over and over they come and arrest the guy. they help me return my shell to my truck and they kind of look for my other missing property to no avail. Then the guy they busted goes back to mexico.
