Home Sweet.................

I woke with the strongest nostalgic sort of melancholic longing for home this morning that it made me want to let you all in on how great my home was and how the memories that accompany that place I our minds that we call home can be so powerful and can mean so much. I grew up in a lower mid class home in a all Mormon(except us) town in a place where the people are full of hate and greed but the actual place, the mountains , the wild places were amazing, a source of inspiration and wonder for a young outcast to escape into and leave all the mean people and the bewildering , wasteful, and decadent society behind. And in amidst all the torture and turmoil was my house. A Mid sized old house, it's a little out of place surrounded by the quite large homes of our neighbors. Though are income was substantially lower but our home was in another class from the impersonal and even unwelcoming mansions of our cold shouldered, rude neighbors. Surrounded by trees , large shrubs that were like a vast jungle were GI Joe and He Man fought the forces of evil. All type of flora adorned our yard it was a deep green. Lying on a blanket sipping cold well water on a hot summer afternoon, shaded by a great Weeping Willow and other tall trees, evergreens and deciduous. Great trees reaching up above the rooftops perfect for a young explorer the climb. Our home was a happy home not alot of fighting or harsh terms we didn’t have alot but we didn’t suffer, and we were a family not like some that are more like acquaintances , we were and still are very close. The inside like the out was very comforting. As you enter you would feel the world outside fall away, you would some how feel lighter like the weight of the world was lifted even though you knew it was just the other side of what was, for quite a long time, a great huge Forest Green door. But like all thing even this had to end. We move on and all we are left with is the memories, a smell, a feeling, a longing for something better that used to be. We all have a deep need for a place to call home. Not just for shelter but for our hearts and minds.....
